Agricultural Land Commission seeks public input
An online survey was recently released seeking input from British Columbia farmers, ranchers and residents on the current Agricultural Land Reserve polices and guidelines.
A newly formed committee is seeking your input to help reform and improve on the existing Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) and the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) – the governing body. The survey is focused on gaining perspective on agricultural hot topics such as; ALR resiliency including residential, unauthorized and non-farm uses within the ALR, farm processing and sales, resource extraction, food security and B.C.'s agricultural contribution.
The survey is open until April 30th
Following the consultation process, the committee is expected to make recommendations to the province in order to stimulate appropriate preservation of BC’s farm land.
